Post Surgical Rehabilitation
Timberlane Physical Therapy is proud to offer a staff of physical therapists that are all very experienced in rehabilitation following surgical intervention. It is important to receive proper guidance and instruction on what to do and when to do it following any surgery. And it is very common for questions to arise after your surgery. When do I start to move my shoulder? Is it OK to lift things yet? How much should I walk? Is ice or heat better to use? These are a few of the questions that commonly arise after surgery. Attending PT will help answer your questions and get you back on the road to recovery.
At Timberlane, we often see patients following these common surgeries; Meniscus repair, ACL repair, Total Hip Replacements, Total Knee Replacements, repairing bone fractures due to an accident, Rotator Cuff repair, Shoulder Debridement, Shoulder Labral repair, and Carpal Tunnel Release. Surgeries for the spine are another area that requires proper rehabilitation. Surgery for the back or neck may include; repair or trimming of a disc to relieve pressure on a spinal nerve, or a fusion of vertebral levels.
Timberlane PT uses a combination of treatment strategies to improve function and decrease pain following surgery. These strategies include the following; manual stretching, massage, exercise instruction, gait training, postural training, and guidance and education on when to return to those tasks your daily life demands. Modalities to help with the pain can also be used, such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice, or heat. Getting back into your daily routine and lifestyle following any surgery can be over whelming. Timberlane Physical Therapy is here to help.
